The Medtronic Cardioblate® GeminiTM Surgical Ablation Device is a hand held, bipolar radiofrequency ablation device intended to ablate soft tissue during general surgery. It has a saline irrigation system to deliver fluid at the contact point between the tissue and electrode to cool the tissue during radiofrequency energy delivery.

Energy Source: Irrigated Radiofrequency

The Gemini™-x model features greater jaw curve that allows for a “top-down” or “bottom-up” vertical port access approach. A new jaw design accommodates tissue of varying thickness.

The Cardioblate® BP2 System utilizes irrigated RF energy to provide surgeons with a means to ablate tissue easily and simply with confidence that the lesions are transmural. As a result, the Cardioblate® BP2 system allows you to perform surgical ablation procedures in a more timely manner.

Longer active electrodes (7 cm)
  • New flexible neck and longer/slimmer malleable electrodes allow shaping of the device as the situation requires. Just bend and go!
  • Longer active electrodes (7 cm) minimize steps. Sleek, tapered electrodes are easy to place.
  • Simply rotate the head or shape the malleable electrodes as the situation requires.
  • The irrigated advantage: With over 25,000 cases of irrigated RF ablation using the Cardioblate® System, it's clear that irrigation is the key to creating transmural lesions.
  • The versatility you need: The Cardioblate® BP2 System includes both a bipolar device and a monopolar pen, allowing surgeons to modify lesion patterns to meet patient requirements.
